BEYOND THE BOARDS
WORLD JUNIORS: DECEMBER 27

Four Buffalo Sabres prospects are representing their countries in this year’s IIHF World Junior Championship in Ufa, Russia: Mikhail Grigorenko and Andrey Makarov (Russia); Joel Armia (Finland) and Jake McCabe (United States). Check back to Sabres.com each day during the tournament (December 26, 2012 to January 5, 2013) as we track their progress.

Thurs., December 27
McCabe: The United States opened preliminary round action with an 8-0 pasting of Germany. Jake McCabe was held off the scoresheet, but his five shots on goal were second only to the six taken by Seth Jones and Riley Barber. McCabe finished plus-one on the day, and also took a pair of minor penalties.
