The latest interview was with Buffalo Sabres forward Daniel Paille.

Who do you look up to most throughout the history of the NHL?

"I would have to say just on how he plays, and from what I hear about him, Steve Yzerman. I just hear great things about how he was off the ice as well as all the good that he did on the ice."

What do you do for fun off the ice? Who is your favorite team mate to chill out with?

"Usually I play a little bit of X-Box with Clarke [MacArthur] or hang out with Drew [Stafford]. But normally I just watch movies, whether it’s going out to see one or renting some at home."

What player on the current Sabres roster have you learned the most from and what did he teach you?

"Paul Gaustad. Since I’ve played with him in Rochester he’s taught me a lot on the penalty kill and every time things don’t go well he’s very positive. He’s taught me a lot on just how to play the game."

With the new schedule, all the teams in the NHL play each other at least once. Which team are you most looking forward to playing this year?

"I was looking forward to playing Colorado to face Joe Sakic. I’ve never played against him until this year so that was exciting for me. Obviously one of the toughest opponents out there are the Stanly Cup Champions, the Detroit Red Wings. They are doing well again this year and are always tough."

Growing up in Welland, ONT were you a Sabres fan or a Leafs fan?

"Neither. I was a fan of the Montreal Canadiens."

What was your ‘Welcome to the Sabres’ moment?

"Probably when I got to play my first game in Buffalo. It was after Boxing Day and it was just a really exciting time."

If you were the commissioner of the NHL for a day, what change would you make to the League?

"I guess I would make a rule change, because that seems to be happening every year, but as far as which one I would change I really have no idea."

What television show are you embarrassed to admit that you watch?

"I watched one episode of Paris Hilton’s My New BFF. I thought it was horrible so I never watched that show again."

If you could put an NHL franchise in any city, where would it be and why?

"I think back to Winnepeg. Maybe that’s the Canadian roots talking. I played against Manitoba and they have seem to have such a great fan atmosphere. But I wasn’t playing in the NHL back in the 1990’s so I don’t know. I guess I’ll have to ask Teppo [Numminen]."

What is the best speech / advice a coach has given you?

"I don’t know if I could narrow it down to one speech or piece of advice. I can’t say which have been better than the others. I’ve had a lot of inspirational talks with coaches. There are just too many."
