WEST COAST BROADCAST SCHEDULE

Wednesday, 01.21.2009 / 7:29 PM / News
The Buffalo Sabres announced today that all four games of next week’s Western road trip will be available on radio only across the Sabres Radio Network.

“Out of our 82-game schedule, the MSG Network has broadcast rights to 70, and the Versus Network has rights to a maximum of eight,” said Larry Quinn, Buffalo’s minority owner/managing partner. “As such, we needed to select four games to be radio only. We chose these west coast games due to their late starts.”

Three of the four games will feature a different play-by-play voice, as legendary Sabres broadcaster Rick Jeanneret will be taking a two-week break. Tonight’s game in Tampa will be Jeanneret’s last until Wed., Feb. 4 vs. Toronto.

Kevin Sylvester will be traveling with the team throughout the trip, and will join Harry Neale in the booth for the Mon., Feb. 2 game in Anaheim (10 p.m.). Sylvester will also be providing exclusive pre- and post-game reports at www.sabres.com. Full game highlights will be available on www.sabres.com the day after each game.

Veteran play-by-play man Curt Keilback will call the action for the games in Edmonton (Tues., Jan. 27, 9 p.m.) and Calgary (Wed. Jan. 28, 8 p.m.). Keilback was the voice of the Winnipeg Jets and Phoenix Coyotes for 27 seasons, calling 2,378 games after joining the franchise in 1979.

Paul Hamilton, the Sabres beat reporter for Sports Radio WGR 550, will be in the booth with Neale in Phoenix on Sat., Jan. 31 (9 p.m.). In addition to his work on WGR, Hamilton has been the play-by-play voice for Niagara University men’s hockey for the past six seasons. He was also part of the Rochester Americans broadcast team from 1988-2002.

There are still tickets available for many home games, including Feb. 4 vs. Toronto and Feb. 6 vs. Montreal. For tickets or more information, call 1-888-GO-SABRES or visit www.sabres.com.
