Buffalo Sabres | Press Release
December 28, 2005
How do you feel about sharing the captain duties with Daniel Briere? What is the difference between having only one captain versus two? Thomas R., Cuba, NY
I think sharing the captaincy this year has been a very positive thing. Between Danny and I, there is a good balance between us of different qualities. I have a great partner in Danny and it makes for a good atmosphere
Where do you spend your time in the off-season? Where did you live before Buffalo? How do you feel about being here now? Kate H., Jamestown, NY
I like to spend time in Manhattan Beach in California when I am not in Buffalo. I enjoy Buffalo a lot though. It is a great city with great people. It is a strong sports town that passionately supports their teams.
Do you use flavored mouth guards? What do you think of the idea? Philip P., Rochester, NY
No, but maybe I should ... I never really thought about it. I guess I really wouldn't want to taste anything, so maybe not.
What is your favorite Christmas song/carol? Mike T., Syracuse, NY
White Christmas by Bing Crosby.
With December being such a busy hockey month, will you have the chance to do anything special with your family for the holidays? Shannon S., Buffalo, NY
Not really too much. It is a busy time, but I try to spend as much time with my family as I can. It is always important to have that time, especially around the holidays
Do you ever go skating for fun, maybe outside in downtown Buffalo, with family or friends? Amy C., Las Vegas, NV
Usually not at an arena, but when it gets colder you can skate around and play a little pond hockey outside.
What is your favorite thing to eat for Christmas dinner? Carol C., Gettsville, NY
My favorite Christmas dinner food would be ham for sure
How do you keep yourself motivated and playing well at this point in the season with so many games gone and so many yet to come? Leif S., Buffalo, NY
Each game is a new challenge and I think that is how you have to look at it. Each opponent provides a new chance to build on your game with your team. Each night there is chance to win and that is what it is all about. If you approach each day like that, it doesn't get drawn out and boring.
