Prior to the Buffalo Sabres contest against the Florida Panthers, the team honored its five representatives who will compete in the Winter Olympics in Turino, Italy: Chris Drury (USA); Maxim Afinogenov (Russia); Jochen Hecht (Germany); Toni Lydman (Finland); and Teppo Numminen (Finland).
