If the team declines, Dumont will become an unrestricted free agent.

The 28-year-old right wing recorded 40 points (20+20) in 54 games for the Sabres during the 2005-06 season. With a 17.2 shooting percentage, Dumont trailed only Chris Drury (17.4) for the team lead.

The Montreal, Quebec native amassed 14 points (7+7) in 18 games during the 2006 Stanley Cup Playoffs. His game-winning goal in overtime of Game Three against the Ottawa Senators in the second round gave Buffalo a resounding 3-0 series lead.
