October 3, 2006

Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced today the team has assigned LW Daniel Paille to Rochester of the American Hockey League. This leaves the Sabres roster at 22. The deadline for final rosters is 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Paille, 22, was Buffalo's first-round selection (20th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He was one of five Sabres to play in all six preseason games, finishing with one goal and one assist. Last season, Paille scored 27 points (14+13) in 45 games with Rochester of the American Hockey League. He also played in 14 games with Buffalo, recording one goal and two assists.

Following Wednesday's season opener in Carolina, Buffalo kicks off the home portion of their schedule on Friday as they play host to the Montreal Canadiens. Game time is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are still available at Gold pricing levels.
