Sabres Sign Adam Dennis

October 12, 2006

Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have signed goaltender Adam Dennis to a three-year entry level contract. Dennis has been assigned to Rochester of the American Hockey League.

Dennis (6', 183 lbs.) was Buffalo's sixth-round choice (182nd overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. The 21-year-old Dennis played four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with Guelph and London, posting a career-record of 100-45-9.

Last season with London, Dennis was selected as the OHL Goaltender of the Year when he set a league-record with 44 wins, while finishing with a 2.82 goals against average and .915 save percentage.

As a member of London's 2005 Memorial Cup championship team, Dennis won the Hap Emms Memorial Trophy as the Top Goaltender and was named to the tournament All-Star Team. He also became first goalie ever to record a shutout in the Memorial Cup Final when he made 27 saves in a 4-0 win over Sidney Crosby and the Rimouski Oceanic.
