Head coach Lindy Ruff gave a few injury updates during this morning's pre-game skate.  He addressed the current status of Adam Mair, Dmitri Kalinin and Drew Stafford.

Here are the finer points:

Drew Stafford (shoulder) --

"Right now, we're just looking at day-to-day.  So he could be available [Saturday at Montreal] or possibly Monday."

Adam Mair (ankle) --

"He's still progressing but is still not in full contact."

Dmitri Kalinin (knee) --

"He's kind of stuck at that point where he's ready to skate but his knee is still a little tender.  He may need a couple days away from the off-ice stuff to get him over the hump.

"We feel he's almost right where he supposed to be at this stage of rehab."

Going into Friday night's match-up with Montreal the Sabres have 36 total man-games lost.  See chart below for full details.

Player Injury Dates Out Missed Games
Ales Kotalik Knee 10/5-10/6 2
Jaroslav Spacek  Shoulder  10/19-10/27; 11/02-11/07 8
Dmitri Kalinin Knee 10/26-present 11
Nolan Pratt Groin 11/05-11/10 4
Tim Connolly Abdominal Strain 11/07-11/16 5
Adam Mair Abdominal Strain 11/07-present 6
Drew Stafford Shoulder --- ---
Total man-games lost:    36

Man-games lost is calculated by adding each individual game a player missed together.  So under that definition, one game will/can be counted multiple times if more than one player is absent due to injury.  That's why the total (36) is greater than the actual number of games played (19).
