MacARTHUR SELECTED TO AHL ALL-STAR TEAM
Rochester Americans’ winger Clarke MacArthur was selected to the 2008 AHL’s Canadian All-Star team today.

MacArthur has recorded 30 points (11+19) in 26 games for the Amerks and serves as their sole representative on the Canadian roster.

The Lloydminster, Alb. native has also tallied six points (4+2) in 14 games with the Buffalo Sabres, of which he is currently still playing as part of his second stint with the NHL club this season.

In 51 games for the Amerks last year, MacArthur totaled 63 points (21+42).

The All-Star weekend begins Jan. 27 at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena with a skills competition and ends the following day as the Canadians take on PlanetUSA.

“Of the 427 players to take part in the AHL All-Star Classic since 1995, more than 93 percent have competed in the National Hockey League, including Patrice Bergeron, Brad Boyes, Daniel Briere, Zdeno Chara, Jonathan Cheechoo, Pavol Demitra, Rick DiPietro, Patrik Elias, Ray Emery, Jiri Hudler, Miikka Kiprusoff, Kari Lehtonen, Ryan Miller, Martin St. Louis, Jason Spezza, Eric Staal and Steve Sullivan,” according to the AHL’s press release.

The team includes 13 forwards, eight defensemen and three goaltenders originally from Canada.
