Mark Mancari is happy to take over for his teammate Clarke MacArthur- in a few categories.

MacArthur, who was selected to participate in the 2008 AHL All-Star game,  will miss the event as he is still on the Buffalo Sabres roster for his second recall of the season.

The AHL annunced today that Mancari will replace him on the Canadien squad to battle PlanetUSA on Jan 27-28.

Although the Rochester Americans have struggled as of late, currently on a six-game losing skid, Mancari has been consistent- surpassing MacArthur to lead the team with 35 points (13+22).

The winger has added six goals and nine points in the past 10 games and also leads the team with a plus-six rating through the month of January.

Last season, Mancari notched 57 points (23+34) in 64 games. The 22 year old is in his third season with the Amerks.

Rochester looks to break the losing streak with a home-and-home series against the Lake Erie Monsters beginning at Blue Cross Arena on Friday at 7:35 p.m. The Amerks then travel to Cleveland on Saturday to take on the Monsters at 7:30 p.m. at the Quicken Loans Arena.

The AHL All-Star Classic begins in Toronto Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. with a skills competition and continues the following evening with the All-Star game at 7 p.m.

According to the league, more than 93 percent of the 427 players to participate in the event have gone on to compete in the NHL.
