General manager Darcy Regier briefly discussed center Tim Connolly's hip surgery to repair a bone spur on Tuesday prior to the Sabres/Leafs game in the Air Canada Centre.

"[Connolly's] surgery went well," said Regier of the season-ending surgery.  "Hopefully, he'll be ready to go at the start of training camp next year."

That's all the update that was given.

Connolly intended to undergo the procedure following the season and was attempting to battle through the pain, but opted have surgery on March 24 in Vail, Col.

The bone spur was just one of three ailments that forced the center to miss a total 26 games this season: abdominal strain (5); flu (2); and groin/hip (19). Connolly last suited up for the Sabres on Mar. 10 against the New York Rangers.
