The tournament will run in Ottawa from Dec. 26, 2008 through Jan. 5, 2009.
Myers has previously competed in international play, participating in the 2008 Under-18 World Championships, and winning a Gold medal with Team Canada. The Sabres’ 2008 first-round draft pick (12th overall) has collected 20 points (4+16) in 26 games during his third season with the WHL Kelowna Rockets.
Ennis has also played for Team Canada in the past. The 5-foot-8 forward has played in the under-16, under-17 and under-18 tournaments, winning Gold in the summer of 2006.
Ennis is in his fourth season with the WHL Medicine Hat Tigers. The winger has recorded 15 goals and 36 points in 31 games on the year. He was Buffalo’s second pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, taken 26th overall.
“That just tells you that we have a couple good players coming down the pipeline,” Sabres’ Head Coach Lindy Ruff said. “You’re getting to play against all the best from the different countries and you get to play under some pressure situations.... They get to find out where they are at.”
