To help future productions the Sabres Foundation made a $10,000 donation to the Theatre Alliance of Buffalo as the organization held its year-end celebration at HSBC Arena.
Consisting of 19 local and professional theatre companies, TAB is dedicated to promoting arts and entertainment in the Buffalo community.
"We really think theatre is an undiscovered gem in this community," said TAB's Vice President Randall Kramer. "It's wonderfully supported, but there are so many people that don't know about it yet… We're excited about the potential of reaching new people through the alliance."
Paul Gaustad was on-hand to deliver the check to representatives of the company that encompasses more than 3,000 volunteers.
"People are proud of Buffalo, and this organization is another branch that shows we are proud of what we are doing here," Gaustad said at the event. "I think what it comes down is that everything has to be a team unit and everyone has to work together as a group."
"I think the culture is quite strong [in Buffalo]; however it won't always be strong if it doesn't get help," said Connie McEwan Caldwell, TAB's Director of Communications. "TAB's setup is new, it's in its infancy, in the scope of projects that it wants to introduce, [the donation] will help sustain the theatre in this community."
