| PAT LAFONTAINE Oct. 25, 1991 Pat LaFontaine was acquired by the Buffalo Sabres from the New York Islanders in a blockbuster, eight-person trade. Uwe Krupp, Pierre Turgeon, Benoit Hogue and Dave McLlwain were sent to the Islanders in exchange for LaFontaine, Randy Wood, Randy Hillier and the Islanders' fourth-round pick (Dean Melanson) in the 1992 Entry Draft. |

| DOMINIK HASEK Aug. 7, 1992 Acquiring Dominik Hasek was a two-part deal. The Sabres sent Christian Ruutu to the Winnipeg Jets for Stephane Beauregard and future considerations. Buffalo then sent Beauregard and a 4th round choice (Eric Daze) in 1993 Entry Draft to the Chicago Blackhawks for the upcoming goaltender. |
