SABRES STREET HOCKEYFEST AND TENT SALE SET FOR THIS SUNDAY

The eighth annual Buffalo Sabres Street HockeyFest presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods and HSBC Bank is all set for this Sunday on the streets surrounding HSBC Arena. New to this year’s event is an all-day Tent Sale featuring unique Sabres merchandise, along with a community blood drive inside the building.
The day-long street hockey tournament features 188 teams of boys and girls ages 5-17 in six divisions: Micron (ages 5-6), Mite (7-8), Squirt (9-10), PeeWee (11-12), Bantam (13-14) and Midgets (15-17). All the action gets underway at 9 a.m., with the championship games slated to start around 4 p.m.
The Tent Sale on the floor of HSBC Arena begins at 8 a.m. There will be great deals on a wide array of unique new and used memorabilia and merchandise, including: player jerseys, new and used equipment, old goal lights, a locker stall, TV’s, office furniture, posters, media guides, DVD’s and much more!
All sales are final. Cash payments are encouraged, but credit cards will be accepted for more expensive items. Items must be picked up on Sunday.
The Sabres, in partnership with Upstate New York Transplant Services (UNYTS), will also be holding a community blood drive from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. inside HSBC Arena. The first 300 who present to donate will receive a free Buffalo Sabres / UNYTS t-shirt. To schedule an appointment to donate blood, please visit UNYTS.org or call (716) 512-7940. Photo ID is required and walk-ins are welcome.
There will also be an exhibition street hockey game between members of the Sabres Alumni and WGR 550 on-air personalities. Current members of the Buffalo Sabres and Sabres Alumni will also be on hand to sign autographs throughout the day. Food and drink will be available for purchase, and parking will be free in the arena ramp.
