LOCAL OLYMPIAN TO DROP THE PUCK
The Buffalo Sabres today announced that Olympic bobsled gold medalist and Buffalo native Steve Mesler will drop the ceremonial faceoff prior to this Wednesday’s home game against the Dallas Stars. Game time is 7 p.m.

Mesler won gold for the U.S. team in the four-man event at the recent 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Mesler and his teammates rode the “Night Train” sled to victory, becoming the first American team to win the event since 1948.
