The Buffalo Sabres announced today that they will team up with Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy to plant trees at Riverside Park in Buffalo on Sunday, October 24 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Sabres Paul Gaustad and Mike Weber will join Buffalo Sabres Green Team volunteers as they plant 50 trees around Riverside Park. The program is the first of many “green” initiatives that the Sabres will implement this season in an effort to make Western New York a better place to live.

Volunteers will meet at the Riverside Ice Rink parking lot, located at 2607 Niagara St in Riverside Park at 9 a.m. They are encouraged to wear old clothing and bring work gloves and shovels if they have them. For more information, contact Rich Jureller at 855-4703.
