SABRES SIGN GOALTENDER DAVID LEGGIO
Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have signed goaltender David Leggio to an NHL contract. Leggio was previously under contract with the Portland Pirates, Buffalo’s AHL affiliate.

A native of Williamsville, NY, Leggio (6’0”, 180 lbs., 7/31/1984) has a 7-1 record in eight games with Portland this season, posting a 2.71 GAA and .917 save percentage. Leggio is second in the AHL in wins, after starting his Portland career with a six-game winning streak.

Leggio was signed by Portland as a free agent on August 6, after spending last season with TPS Turku in Finland. The 26-year-old Leggio played four years of college hockey with Clarkson University from 2004-08.
