HOCKEY DAY IN WESTERN NEW YORK
WHO/WHAT:
A free Learn to Play event for kids ages four to nine to experience ice hockey and learn the basics of the sport in a fun, safe environment!

Led by local youth hockey associations and rinks across the state, newcomers will have access to all the necessary hockey equipment for the event. In addition, on-ice support will be present to teach kids how to get dressed, stand on skates, hold a stick and skate around. The highlight of each clinic will be a short scrimmage for participants to experience their first hockey game.

Hockey Day in Western New York events are hosted by the New York State Amateur Hockey Association, OneGoal, USA Hockey and Buffalo Sabres. For additional event information, visit www.HockeyDayInWesternNewYork.com.

With support from sponsors and local associations, Learn to Play events create a fun and inexpensive way for kids to try hockey while raising awareness of Western New York’s youth hockey programs. When kids discover their love for the game, the local associations can easily introduce new players to the hockey organizations in their area.

OneGoal’s starter equipment program has delivered over 20,000 sets to rinks, retailers and hockey associations across North America since 2008. The vision of the equipment program is to make it easier for parents to give hockey a chance in their family.
