MORNING SKATE UPDATE: KALETA SET TO RETURN
Sabres Head Coach Lindy Ruff told the media this morning that forward Patrick Kaleta, who has missed the last six games with an upper body injury, will return to the lineup tonight when the Sabres host the Montreal Canadiens at HSBC Arena.  In a corresponding roster move, Ruff said that Luke Adam has been sent to Portland of the American Hockey League.

“Pat has played well for us,” Ruff said of Kaleta.  “He brings a lot of energy to the game.  He’s an important player for us.”

In 36 games this season, Kaleta has recorded eight points (four goals, four assists) and 66 penalty minutes.  Prior to his injury, he was on a two-game point streak (1-1-2).

Ryan Miller, who has started 21 consecutive games for Buffalo entering play tonight, spoke about the importance of tonight’s game in regard to the Sabres’ playoff push.

“We haven’t had the results we’ve wanted but we have the second half to make it up,” Miller said.  “A lot of hockey left to be played, we have to hope the teams in front of us allow us to catch them but also we have to do a lot of leg work.  Tonight, a division rival, we’ve got to start.”

Tonight’s game is the fourth meeting of the year between the Sabres and Habs, but is the final game in Buffalo for the season series.  The Sabres are in search of their first victory of the 2010-11 campaign over the Canadiens.
