The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has achieved a record renewal rate of 99% for their 2011-12 season tickets. As a result, season ticket sales have been capped at 15,200 tickets for the 2011-12 season. That total includes 100 new season tickets, which have been sold to members of the Buffalo Sabres Blue & Gold club.

Due to this extraordinary rate of renewal, the supply of tickets for the upcoming season will be much more limited than years past. The demand was so great that the Sabres will – for the first time in franchise history – cap the number of Mini-Packs at 3,500 accounts.

"We anticipate this year’s Mini-Packs will sell out quickly,” said John Sinclair, the VP of Ticket Operations & Services. “Those individuals that are currently members of the Blue & Gold Club will have the first opportunity to purchase tickets, as well as individuals who purchased Mini-Packs last season. At that point, it will move to the general public.”

Mini-Packs give fans the opportunity to create their own ticket package choosing anywhere from 5 to 39 games. There are additional savings for those individuals who purchase a mini-pack prior to Aug. 30. Fans can save up to 10% or up to $24 per game if they purchase by this date. After Aug. 30, mini-pack holders will receive a $2 savings per ticket off window prices, as in years past. Additionally, mini-pack holders will not pay a ticket service charge and will have the ability to purchase playoff tickets before they go on sale to the general public (based on availability).

The Sabres also announced today the variable pricing breakdown for the team’s 40 home games. The variable pricing plan will continue to place games into five price classifications: Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Value. These are based on the opponent, time of the year, day of the week, classic rivalries and games against marquee players. This year’s variable pricing list will feature just one Platinum game, against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday, Jan. 13. The remaining 39 games will broken down as follows: Gold (11), Silver (18), Bronze (5) and Value (5).

Preseason tickets will be available for purchase Aug. 29 at 9 a.m. Individual regular season tickets will go on sale to the public at 9 a.m. on Sept. 17. Click here to view variable pricing game designations and pricing.
