The Buffalo Sabres are dedicated to the growth and development of youth hockey leagues in Western New York. To further encourage participation in the sport and give athletes in the area a forum for discussion, the organization has released its Amateur Hockey Initiative through Sabres.com. Fans can find hockey tips from Buffalo Sabres players and coaches, links to upcoming tournaments and clinics, as well as schedules for local amateur hockey games.
Also, the organization is allowing fans to become active participants on the website. Students, parents or coaches can submit written content about their hockey team. Sabres.com will review the article and post it on the Web site within three business days. Game recaps, feature stories and standings for amateur hockey leagues will all be accepted. Images can also be attached.
The Buffalo Sabres currently sponsor multiple amateur hockey initiatives such as the Junior Sabres, Sabres Sled Hockey Team and Hasek’s Heroes. The Sabres provide additional support by hosting events like Super Sunday and the Bowman Cup.
