POWER PLAY LUNCHEON MOVED TO JAN. 13
The Buffalo Sabres today announced that the second Power Play Luncheon of the 2011-12 season will now take place on Friday, January 13 instead of the original date of Friday, December 2. The lunch, which begins at noon in the 100 Level Harbour Club at First Niagara Center, will feature NBC/VERSUS play-by-play announcer Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick as the guest speaker.

Emrick, who has been calling NHL games for over 32 years, has been behind the microphone for some of the most important hockey games of the past three decades. In addition to calling hockey for five Olympic games on NBC and CBS, Emrick has worked 27 consecutive Stanley Cup playoffs, 17 Stanley Cup finals and 20 Stanley Cup playoff Game 7s since entering the NHL in 1980. His distinguished broadcasting career has earned Emrick numerous awards, including the 2008 Foster Hewitt Award from the Hockey Hall of Fame for his contributions to hockey broadcasting and a 2011 Emmy Award for Outstanding Sports Personality- Play by Play.

The Power Play Luncheon series offers corporations and individuals an exclusive first-hand look at the Sabres’ organization and the NHL, with a portion of the proceeds from the event benefiting the Buffalo Sabres Foundation.

Attendees will be asked to adhere to a business casual dress code. Free parking will be available in the ramp adjacent to First Niagara Center. Those who wish to get a refund because of the rescheduled lunch can contact Lauren Yurko at (716)855-4468.

The Buffalo Sabres Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit foundation that is committed to enhancing the quality of life for the Western New York region.
