Filip Forsberg has been playing as a boy among men in Sweden for several years now, and he’ll now have an opportunity to ply his trade in North America. Forsberg (who is no relation to former NHL star Peter Forsberg) is the number one rated European skater for this year’s Entry Draft, and is projected to be a top three selection. A power forward with an NHL-quality shot, the 17-year-old Forsberg spent last season with Leksands in Sweden’s second-highest league, picking up eight goals and 17 points in 43 games. He was also a member of Sweden’s gold medal winning team at the World Junior Championship in Edmonton. Considered by many to be one of the most complete players available in the draft, Forsberg doesn’t turn 18 until August 13, and still has time to add some more muscle to his six-foot-three and 180 pound frame.

Teuvo Teravainen (Finland) and Sebastien Collberg (Sweden) check in at numbers two and three respectively. The slightly-built Teravainen (5’11”, 161 lbs.) compiled 18 points (11+7) in 40 games this season with Jokerit of the Finnish Elite League, and is considered to be one of the most highly-skilled players in this year’s draft. Collberg is a sniper who scored four goals in six games for Sweden at the World Juniors, and also played in 41 games with Frolunda of the Swedish Elite League.
