BUFFALO, N.Y. (September 5, 2012) --- The Buffalo Sabres today announced that members of the Sabres organization will visit select locations in Southern Ontario on Thursday, Sept. 6 and Friday, Sept. 7 for their inaugural “Invade Canada Caravan”.

Members of the Sabres organization, including Sabres President Ted Black, former Sabres players Danny Gare and Jay McKee, and Sabres broadcast personality Harry Neale, will spend the day traveling around Southern Ontario, making stops at select local establishments to interact with members of the community along the way.

The Caravan will kick off on Thursday at 8 a.m., as Sabres forward Ville Leino joins the group to spend an hour serving patrons at Tim Horton’s on Garrison Rd. in Fort Erie, Ont. The trip will then continue on to stops at Fort Erie Elementary and Green Acres Elementary in Stoney Creek, Ont., where the group will read to first- and second-grade students and talk to an eighth grade class about bullying.

The day’s events will be rounded out by networking events with local business leaders in Fort Erie and St. Catharines, Ont., where several members of the Sabres organization will be on hand to answer questions about their roles in the company.

The Caravan will continue Friday afternoon with a panel discussion at Brock University, where Black and other Sabres executives will host a question-and-answer session with sport management students.

Following the panel discussion, the group will be joined by Sabres forward Cody Hodgson for a trip to St. Catharines General Hospital, where they will visit cancer patients and children in pediatric care.

Hodgson and McKee will wrap up the day with a visit to a youth hockey clinic in St. Catharines, where they will host a question-and-answer session about the life of a professional hockey player and what it takes to be successful in the NHL.
