Cal Petersen has been a rock for Waterloo; Nick Baptiste continues to roll

SABRES PROSPECTS REPORT
Goaltender Cal Petersen has won six of seven starts with the USHL\'s Waterloo Black Hawks; Sudbury\'s Nick Baptiste had 5 points in 3 games last week.

OHL
Sudbury Wolves winger NICK BAPTISTE (2013, third round) continued his hot start to the Ontario Hockey League season, notching five points (1+4) for the week as the second-place Wolves won once in three tries. The speedy Baptiste enters November with 22 points (12+10) through 14 games, which is good for 12th in league scoring.

JUSTIN KEA (2012, third round) notched a goal and an assist Saturday to earn the game’s number three star as Saginaw skated to a 4-1 victory over Barrie. After 14 games, Kea places second on the team in scoring with 12 points (3+9).

Saginaw captain ERIC LOCKE (2013, seventh round) posted an assist in Saturday’s win over Barrie. The skilled shooter has gone without a marker in his last four games, making it his longest goalless stretch since a six-game drought last November.

BRADY AUSTIN (2012, seventh round) scored on the power play Sunday as London dropped a 7-4 decision at Guelph. The tally was Austin’s third of the year, and second since joining the Knights in early October. In 15 combined games with Belleville and London, Austin has three goals and five assists.

JUSTIN BAILEY (2013, second round) was unable to connect Thursday as Kitchener was blanked by London 3-0. Bailey has gone four games without a point, leaving him with seven points (3+4) in 12 games this season.


WHL
LOGAN NELSON
(2012, fifth round) added one assist to his season haul last week as Victoria was swept in a home set with Kelowna. The fourth-year man currently leads the Royals with eight goals and 19 points through 17 games.


NCAA
J.T. COMPHER
(2013, second round) recorded an assist from his point position on the power play as Michigan squeaked past Boston University 2-1. The freshman center, who was unable to get on the scoresheet in Saturday’s loss to Massachusetts-Lowell, has gathered five points (0+5) through his first six collegiate outings.

CHRISTIAN ISACKSON (2010, seventh round) picked up an assist Sunday for his first point of the year as Minnesota walloped Boston College 6-1. Isackson has been in and out of the lineup for the Gophers, who will start November as the nation’s top-ranked team.

ANTHONY FLORENTINO (2013, fifth round) and MARK ADAMS (2009, fifth round) formed a defensive pair for No. 8 Providence as the Friars played to a 4-4 tie with third-ranked Miami on Saturday. The night before, Florentino produced four shots on goal as the Friars downed the RedHawks 3-2 in overtime.

Defenseman JAKE McCABE (2012, second round) and winger Brad Navin (2011, seventh round) had the week off as the Wisconsin Badgers ironed out some kinks following a pair of road defeats at Boston College and Boston University.


USHL
In Friday action, JUDD PETERSON (2012, seventh round) scored to cap a three-goal third period rally with 10:28 left in regulation as Cedar Rapids earned a 4-3 victory over Youngstown. The goal was Peterson's fourth of the year and second game winner.

CAL PETERSEN (2013, fifth round) was sturdy in net Friday, stopping 37 shots to earn the game's number two star as Waterloo skated to a 6-2 triumph over Sioux Falls. Petersen is 6-1 through his first seven starts, with a 2.28 GAA and .928 save%.

CONNOR HURLEY (2013, second round) contributed an assist in each game as Muskegon split their weekend Nebraska road trip with a win at Lincoln and a loss at Omaha. The Notre Dame commit leads the Lumberjacks with 10 points (3+7) after the first 12 games.


Swedish Hockey League (SHL)
LINUS ULLMARK
(2012, sixth round) made 23 saves Thursday for his first career SHL shutout as MODO earned a 1-0 overtime victory over AIK. The 20-year old Ullmark (4-4) leads the league with a .941 save%, while placing second overall with a 1.84 GAA.

On Saturday, GUSTAV POSSLER (2013, fifth round) assisted on the overtime game winner as MODO earned a 3-2 victory over Lulea. The helper gives Possler points in two straight following an assist in Thursday’s victory. The 18-year-old continues to lead MODO with eight goals, 12 points, and 42 shots on goal.
