BAPTISTE INVITED TO TEAM CANADA SUMMER CAMP
Nicholas Baptiste has been invited to Team Canada\'s 2014-15 National Junior Team Summer Development Camp.

Team Canada announced its roster for the 2014-15 National Junior Team Summer Development Camp on Monday. Among those invited is Buffalo Sabres prospect Nicholas Baptiste.

The Sabres selected Baptiste in the third round of the 2013 NHL Draft (69th overall). He narrowly missed out on making Canada’s 25-man roster last year.

In 2013-14, the 18-year-old wing registered career highs in goals, assists and points in 65 games played.

He led the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League with 45 goals and 89 points. His 44 assists ranked second on the team. His 45 goals tied him for fourth-best among all OHL skaters.

Through three seasons with the Wolves, Baptiste has played in 195 games and recorded 164 points (74+90). The Ottawa native also earned a gold medal while playing with Team Canada at the 2013 U18 World Junior Championship in Sochi, Russia.

Baptiste signed a three-year entry-level contract with Buffalo in May.

The Team Canada camp roster also boasts plenty of 2014 NHL Draft-eligible players. Aaron Ekblad, Sam Reinhart, Sam Bennett, Michael Dal Colle, Haydn Fleury, Robby Fabbri, Jake Virtanen, Nick Ritchie, Travis Sanheim, Brendan Perlini, Jayce Hawryluk Roland McKeown and Brayden Point will be in attendance.

Connor McDavid, who is expected to be a top draft pick in 2015 has also been invited.

The full list of invitees can be found here.

It was announced last week that five Buffalo Sabres prospects are set to participate in Team USA's junior team summer camp.
