The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has signed forward Luke Adam to a one-year, two-way contract.

Adam (6'2", 206 lbs., 6/18/90) has played in parts of four seasons with the Sabres since being drafted by Buffalo in the second round (44th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

In 2013-14, Adam led the Sabres’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Rochester Americans, in goals and ranked second on the team in overall points with 49 (29+20) in 59 games played. His 29 goals tied his career high, which he set in 2010-11 with the Portland Pirates (AHL), and was tied for eighth-most goals in the AHL.

In February 2014, Adam played in his second AHL All-Star game.

Last season, Adam was called up to play with the Sabres twice. In 87 NHL games with the Sabres, Adam has recorded 26 points (15+11) through 87 games played.

The St. John’s, Newfoundland native has amassed 161 points (77+84) in 210 AHL games with the Americans and the Pirates. He was awarded the 2010-11 Dudley “Red” Garrett Memorial Award as the AHL’s outstanding rookie and also earned a spot on the 2010-11 AHL All-Rookie Team.
