SABRES EMCEE PROFILE

Name: Brian Anthony Wicka

What do you do for a living?

I am an accounts manager at LHR Inc. in the village of Hamburg, as well as a United States Naval Reservist.

What 3 adjectives would you use to best describe yourself?

Witty, Boisterous and “Task-Oriented.”

What is your favorite movie?

True Romance (written by: Quentin Tarantino, directed by: Tony Scott)

What is your favorite song?

Piano Man

Who is your favorite Singer/Band?

Billy Joel

Who is your favorite current Buffalo Sabres player?

I would have to say Jason Pominville. Jason was put on waivers a few years back. He came back with a chip on his shoulder, and something to prove to the Sabres, and the rest of the NHL. That was the fact he belonged in this league, and still does today. I think that is a huge demonstration of perseverance and character.  # 29 has become a staple of the Sabres offense. He has one of the most infamous game winning goals in Buffalo Sabres history.

Who is your all time favorite Buffalo Sabres player?

I am going to say Dave Snuggerud, probably because his name is just so cool to say. It sounds funny!

What was your most embarrassing moment?

My most embarrassing moment has to be when I graduated from basic training at Naval Station Great Lakes, Illinois. We were standing at attention for over three hours. I locked my knees for about two and half hours of that time. When it came time to pass and review, I fell face first and passed out right in front of a two star admiral. When I became conscious, I could see all my shipmates and their families pointing, snickering and laughing at me. I learned never to lock your knees when standing at attention.

If you were a Superhero, what would your superpower be?

I think an underrated superpower is the ability to stave off boredom and fatigue, for long periods of time.  I think stick-with-it-ness is a “secret” power behind many forums of success.
