HISTORY OF THE CAPTAINCY

The 2003-04 season marked the first time in Sabres history that more than two players had worn the "C" in a single season. A total of five different players were named Captain throughout that season.

Head coach Lindy Ruff, a former Sabres captain in the 80's, named Chris Drury and Daniel Briere co-captains prior to the 2005-06 season, again marking a first in franchise history.  Buffalo is currently the only team in the NHL to have two players share the captaincy.

Here is the list of the men who have led Buffalo into battle.
